Chuck Johnson is the first American to be trained in the artform of Japanese Katana Action entirely in Japan. His life in Asia started after winning the Michigan State Junior Olympic Taekwondo championships 6 days after recieveing his black belt. With big dreams of going to the Olympics, we went to Korea for competitive taekwondo training, and stayed there on and off for three years. While there, we also trained in Demonstration taekwondo, and after returning to the states, he won two national championships, and started his own demonstration team to inspired kids to chase their dreams.
After completing his training in Korea, and a brief stint living in Hong Kong (during which time he also became the intercollegiate HK champion for his weight class) he moved to Tokyo, Japan where he worked on security details for visiting hollywood celebrities ranging from Orlando Bloom to Sylvester Stallone. After getting a part as a martial arts super soldier in Godzilla: Final Wars, he began training in martial arts action, with a base of Olympic Taekwondo, Capoeira and Japanese Katana.
He currently lives in Japan, and works as both a model, writer, and actor in Tokyo. In addition to English, he can also speak both Japanese and Korean, and also has traveled to 33 countries around the world teaching English and martial arts.
